The DTK Platform Edges system checks the set dimensions of stops designed for the disabled, i.e. it captures the variation of clearance between the platform edge and the adjacent rail and the height profile between the platform edge and the upper edge of the adjacent rail.
Variables Captured:
- Horizontal distance of platform edge to track measurement plane
- Height of platform edge to track measurement plane
- Route to be travelled
- Speed
plus optionally:
- Exact GPS and dGPS coordinates
- Simultaneous capture of track geometry
Advantages
Stops used to be surveyed by transport operators by hand, using a ruler to take sample measurements at intervals, e.g. every 5 metres. The DTK Platform Edges system, on the other hand, allows easy, contact-free measurement with small measurement intervals that can be set by the operator, e.g. every 25 cm.
Evaluations
A user-friendly software element helps the user to find significant occurrences such as places where the clearance is less than that specified. The software can also be used to select single sections and the relevant video sequences of the panorama view plus the track and platform contours for that section can be viewed.
